As Her Father And A Christian?

I just found out that my teenage daughter has been engaging in prostitution to support herself and her two year-old child. As her father (and a christian), I am mortified by the thought of my little girl selling her body and her soul. I am naturally very concerned about the effects this will have on my grand daughter. How can I get her to stop this horrible lifestyle?

This recent discovery about your daughters decision to engage in prostitution as a way of supporting her two year-old child, must be very difficult for you to understand, much less embrace. I would like to make the following suggestion: temporarily set aside your feelings of being “mortified” and open your Christian heart up long enough to reach out to your daughter and ask her, without judgement and with a genuine sense of loving curiosity, how she has chosen this particular lifestyle as a way of supporting her daughter. You may not like the answer however it will allow you to reconnect with your daughter in an entirely new way, one that may translate into what I do know about Christianity–unconditional love.

In doing some research on this topic I have found that there is a percentage of women who freely chose to use the one commodity that they feel is their own (their bodies) as a way of becoming financially independent and supporting themselves and their children.
